Welcome to In The Game – a site about sports analytics and ideas that matter.

What you’ll find here

Sports analytics: Interactive tables of player ratings, match predictions, and tournament simulations powered by three R package ecosystems I’ve built:

  • Panna (football) – RAPM+SPM player ratings across 15 leagues
  • Bouncer (cricket) – ELO and skill-based ratings for T20, ODI, and Tests
  • Torp (AFL) – component-based player value ratings

The data tables update automatically, so you’re always seeing the latest numbers.

Writing: Posts about effective altruism, evidence-based policy, and sports analytics methodology.

Everything behind this site is open source. The R packages, the data pipelines, and this site itself are all on GitHub.
